Questions people ask

Straight answers about what Supported Living is, and is not.

What is Supported Living Services?

Individualized support for adults who live in a home they own or lease, authorized by the regional center through the IPP. Support changes as needs change; it is not a facility or a fixed program.

Does HealthHeit provide housing?

No. We support people to find, keep and run their own housing. A residential care home line is planned for the future and is not offered until licensed.

Can you help someone who has a job?

Yes. A new job creates new needs: schedules, transportation, punctuality, paycheck and benefits reporting, budgeting. Coaching on the job site during paid hours is supported employment, which we coordinate with rather than duplicate.

Do you provide behavior support?

We provide everyday routine and coping support within the authorized plan and follow strategies from qualified professionals. We do not provide clinical behavioral treatment.

Do you provide ILS?

We have applied to add Independent Living Services. It is not available until vendorization is complete.

How do I make a referral?

Use the referral request on the Service Coordinators page, or call. After a first conversation we agree a secure way to exchange records.

What does a first meeting look like?

A conversation about needs, routines, preferences, the authorization and whether we are a good fit. No paperwork surprises.
